To Linda on her 25th Birthday
Many lines have been written
And many songs sung
About feelings of father and son.
But I don't recall any
That tell of the tears
And the joys that are many
A mother and daughter share through the years.
A Flood of memories comes to my mind
All tossed together with smiles
And we've only begun,
My daughter and I,
To enjoy one another's lifestyles.
She's half my age, this birthday today,
Though I'm sometimes half of hers.
And I have a daughter,
Lovely and kind,
A beautiful spirit,
And best friend of mine.
Love,
MOTHER
